Job Description Job Description The alterations department completes patchwork, hemming, tapering, and other customizations to our customers' clothing.

Alters, repairs, or fits garments Fits garments on customers to determine required alterations Sews garments, using needles and thread, and sewing machines. Measures parts, such as sleeves or pant legs, and marks or pin-folds alteration lines. Takes up or lets down hems to shorten or lengthen garment parts. Removes stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades. Makes garment style changes, such as tapering pant legs. Reads paperwork to know what alterations to perform Enters complete work notes into the computer for customers' orders Estimate the time frame of the alteration Sewing on name tapes, patches, badge tabs, name tabs, and other style patchwork. Communicates with customers The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time Other duties as assigned
