We have an opportunity for two Senior Planners to join the Poutiaki Taiao Environmental Planning team for a fixed‑term parental leave cover until August/September 2027. The role is flexible to be based in Palmerston North, Hamilton, Tauranga, Auckland or Christchurch.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental compliance and consenting maintenance activities across the State Highway network.
• Handle private plan changes and other RMA policy work.
• Assess third‑party applications, including through FTAA processes (Section95 and Section176 responses for Land Use Developments).
• Respond to and consent emergency works.
• Assist principal planners with Roads of National Significance FTAA approvals.
• Build and work with key local stakeholders to determine land use decisions.
