**What’s the role**
The Orca Development is a Shell-operated ultra-deepwater Flagship Project located in the prolific pre-salt Santos basin offshore Brazil. The field will be developed with 12 subsea wells tied back to a new building Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. The FPSO will be in water depths of 2000m, roughly 200km south of Rio de Janeiro.
While Shell is a major producer in Brazil, Orca is critical to extend Shell-operated production into the 2030s. The project will leverage the experience of the FPSO Contractor to supply and operate the FPSO.
