Minimum requirements: N6 qualification in a mechanical field. Recognised Trade Test in Fitting or Fitting & Turning. John Thompson Boiler Attendant Certificate (advantageous). Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. At least 5 years fitting experience on heavy machinery, including: Coal-fired boilers CFM compressors Centrifugal and piston-type water pumps Previous experience in a Charge Hand or Foreman role (preferred). Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment, drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and water/steam reticulation systems. Skilled in fault-finding and working under pressure during breakdowns. Practically inclined with hands-on ability in tool use and mechanical tasks.
