PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise safe hoisting activities and shaft maintenance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
Onsetter Certificate is essential
Blasting Certificate is essential
At least 5 years relevant shaft working experience
COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace.
Demonstrate an understanding of the functions and the operation of signalling arrangements and safety devices in a shaft
Demonstrate an understanding of shaft signals
Demonstrate knowledge of the importance of maintaining the shaft in good working order
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of blasting products and their usage in an underground hard rock environment
