Crossroads and the Haliburton Emergency Rural SafeSpace (HERS) provides community-based emergency residential safe space (29 licensed beds) and crisis support services for women and their dependents who have experienced or are experiencing violence, to live free of violence. The role focuses on providing 24/7 crisis phone counselling, including safety planning, information on rights, options, available services, referrals and supporting the development of personal safety plans to prevent further abuse.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist women fleeing violent/abusive relationships to increase safety for themselves and dependents, prevent re‑victimization and rebuild lives.
