Job Description
This individual will serve as the primary on site safety authority, responsible for implementing and administering the safety program in full compliance with EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926 requirements.
This is a field heavy, safety first role supporting construction projects valued at approximately $30M.
Day to Day Responsibilities
• Serve as the designated SSHO, meeting the requirements of EM 385 1 1 Section 1 and 01.A.17
• Ensure compliance with 29 CFR 1926.16 and all NAVFAC / federal safety requirements
• Be present on site at all times to implement and administer the government accepted Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
• Spend ~90% of time in the field, actively supporting construction activities
• Conduct daily safety inspections and monitor compliance with safety plans, AHAs, and building codes
• Prepare, review, and maintain:
o Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
o SDS / MSDS documentation
o Daily safety paperwork and reports
