Position Summary

The Opportunity:  Skagit Valley College (SVC) has an opening for a Special Education Liaison for the INVEST program (Individualized Next Step Vocational Education and Social Skills Training). SVC is one of 3 community colleges in Washington state that offers an employment-based certificate program for students with intellectual disabilities. The INVEST program supports students with intellectual disabilities to access to higher education and a potential pathway to employment. The program provides integrated opportunities that include postsecondary education and training, academic enrichment, inclusive socialization and recreation, assistive technology, self-advocacy, independent living skill development, career exploration, integrated work experiences, and ultimately, gainful employment that matches each student's interests and unique abilities.
