Speciality Doctor Acute and General Medicine

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an additional hard‑working and enthusiastic candidate for the post of Speciality Doctor Acute and General Medicine. The post is a mix of general (internal) medicine and acute medicine duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the general medical on‑call rota (senior tier) around one evening per week.
• Provide weekend day shift cover (approximately one weekend every 6‑8 weeks). Night shift commitment is not planned.
• Perform daytime duties in acute medicine, including medical assessment, ambulatory emergency care unit, and high‑dependency unit.
• Carry out rotational duties on downstream specialty wards as indicated by service or training requirements.
• Operate under the direct or indirect supervision of a consultant.
