Unit Summary
The new Regional Rehabilitation Centre's B3 South , Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit is a 16 bed inpatient unit for patients post brain injury admitted for rehabilitation and community re-integration. The unit provides rehabilitation for adults with significant cognitive and physical needs. The emphasis is on improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
Position Summary
As a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, the speech language pathologist provides evaluation, intervention, consultation, education and prevention to an adult population presenting with communication and swallowing disabilities as a result of impairments in language, cognitive-communication abilities, articulation, voice, fluency and/or oropharyngeal dysfunction, related to an acquired brain injury event(s).
