Description
A mission-driven non-profit / education organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support general ledger operations and month-end close. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance with grant and fund accounting requirements, and ensuring timely financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications

+ Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances

+ Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met

+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards

+ Assist with fund accounting, including tracking restricted vs. unrestricted funds

+ Partner with program teams to ensure proper expense coding and grant compliance
