POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
In addition to performing all duties of a Technologist (MT or HT), Medical Laboratory Technician (Anatomic Pathology Support Assistant, where applicable) and a Laboratory Technologist, the Senior Technologist is responsible for complete operation of the Department in conjunction with the Supervisor/AP Laboratory Manager/AP General Specialist. Performs all moderate and highly complex clinical procedures utilizing sophisticated instrumentation to obtain accurate laboratory test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Accountable for all tasks and responsibilities as designated by the CLIA rule and/or delegations made as a result (laboratory documentation delineates this specific information).
