A respected commercial general contractor is seeking a Staff Accountant with construction accounting experience to support financial operations across multiple active projects. This role goes beyond traditional accounting by partnering directly with project managers, operations leaders, and executive management to ensure accurate job costing and project profitability. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a deadline-driven environment and has a strong understanding of project-based accounting.


Responsibilities

Construction Accounting

+ Prepare monthly job cost reports and project reconciliations

+ Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger

+ Review work-in-progress schedules and project budgets

+ Assist with percentage-of-completion accounting

+ Support monthly financial statement preparation

Project Financial Support

+ Reconcile subcontractor costs and retainage
