The Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) is seeking applications from attorneys or graduating law students to join its legal team as a Staff Attorney.

DVHA administers Vermont's Medicaid program as well as Vermont's state-based health insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act. DVHA's mission is to improve Vermonters' health and well-being by providing access to high-quality, cost-effective health care. As a staff attorney in DVHA's legal unit, you will help DVHA tackle challenges and execute its mission by providing timely, accurate legal advice in collaboration with a team of other attorneys within DVHA and across Vermont's Agency of Human Services.

DVHA's legal unit advises the department about a wide range of issues, including:
- State and federal Medicaid law and policy;
- Public records act compliance and record maintenance;
- Civil rights and nondiscrimination in health care;
