Purpose of position
Evaluate appropriate suppliers bringing value to the organization through the competitive bidding process and negotiations with selected suppliers to finalize contracts working with relevant stakeholders. Obtain tax, legal and insurance review; secure all required approvals and manage supplier compliance against contract commitments. Update required information in the contracts system.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with customer departments to understand their needs and identify customer specification requirements.
- Source appropriate suppliers by conducting internal research or issuing Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other communications as part of the competitive bidding process.
- Evaluate proposals using a standard evaluation matrix and select service providers.
