β’ In-depth knowledge of turbine assembly processes (HP, IP, LP turbines, rotors, casings, diaphragms).
β’ Proficiency in interpretation of assembly drawings, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
β’ Familiarity with precision measurement tools (dial gauges, micrometers, laser alignment, torque tools).
β’ Understanding of critical fits, shrink fits, mandrel handling, and interference fits in turbine assembly.
β’ Knowledge of hydraulic tightening, torqueing, and bolt tensioning procedures.
β’ Awareness of special processes in assembly (heating, cooling, oil flushing, rotor balancing, barring gear trials).
β’ Familiarity with shop safety practices for heavy components and crane operations.
β’ Knowledge of welding, NDT, and quality standards relevant to turbine assembly.
