Barker Road Middle School is seeking a part-time 0.5 FTE substitute reading/literacy specialist for Jefferson Road Elementary School from September 1, 2026, through November 23, 2026. This position supports students in grades 6–8 from 7:30-11:09 a.m.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide diagnostic and remedial instruction for students in the area of literacy.

Provide professional learning opportunities for staff in the area of literacy.



SPECIFIC DUTIES:
+ Provide remediation for students in the area of literacy.
+ Work and plan with paraprofessionals to provide support to students when needed.
+ Serve as a resource for staff and administrators through consultation and provision of professional learning opportunities.
+ Participate on the building Instructional Support Team and Pupil Service Team when appropriate.
