Summary The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) over the Hematology/Blood Bank section of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. The laboratory is a complexity level index group 1, performing over 4 million standard billable tests annually. The CLS supervises a staff of non-supervisory personnel including at least one GS-12 subordinate. Responsibilities Duties and tasks include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrates knowledge of Federal and state laws and regulations and laboratory accrediting agency regulatory requirements sufficient to develop plans and procedures for the laboratory. Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory quality management procedures and principles sufficient to establish and monitor a laboratory quality management program and/or the education and training of laboratory staff.
