Summary The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In our dynamic environment, the OIG conducts investigations, audits, evaluations, and inspections to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency and to detect and prevent waste, fraud, and mismanagement in DHS programs and operations. Responsibilities The incumbents will serve as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC), assigned to the Office of Investigations, for the SAC Gulf Region, SAC Northeast Region, or SAC Laredo respectively and is responsible for providing oversight and leadership to a team of criminal investigators and support staff concerning investigations related to national security, fraud, abuse, and/or other misconduct in programs or operations administered or financed by the Department.
