Job Description
The Department of French & Italian maintains a pool of lecturers and teaching specialists to teach French and Italian courses, mostly lower-division language skills courses, that cannot be staffed by regular faculty or graduate teaching assistants. These positions may be full- or part-time for fall or spring semesters, and summer. These positions are for day, evening, or a combination of day/evening courses, taught on a semester basis. Salary range is competitive based upon qualifications.
Duties and responsibilities: Teach assigned language classes/sections; keep office hours; prepare course materials; engage in curriculum development; prepare and grade exams; and participate in program meetings as appropriate. Teaching one course per semester is 34%; teaching two courses per semester is 68%, teaching two courses and assisting with another course is 84%, teaching three courses per semester is 100%.
