SUMMARY:
Timely and accurately performs routine testing on laboratory instruments and testing authorized by the Supervisor. Responsible for management of patient specimens throughout the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing once the specimen arrives in the testing laboratory. Performs test as outlined in the laboratory’s standard operating procedures. Departments which apply are: Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, Histology, Molecular Pathology, and Immunohematology. The Laboratory Assistant is responsible to and will receive work assignments from laboratory technologists and/ or Laboratory Specialist.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Ability to follow instructions accurately and precisely
Strong attention to detail
