Job Summary:
Performs journeyman plumbing/steam fitting work and frequently supervises others in the installation, alteration and repair of kitchen and patient care equipment, medical gas systems, pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, heating control, domestic water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Performs semi-skilled welding works on a variety of metals including steel, iron, brass and aluminum using electric arc and gas welding equipment to maintain and repair metal equipment parts and assemblies. Performs semi-skilled HVAC work such as steam and hydronic systems chilled water systems and unit heaters. Must demonstrate working knowledge of theory practice, techniques, applicable standards and tools, materials and equipment used in the primary and assigned trades.
