Based at a remote expedition camp, this hands-on role is suited to a conservation-minded guide who is equally comfortable leading walking safaris and game drives as they are lending a hand across wider reserve operations during quieter periods; this position may also be filled by a management couple applying jointly alongside a Lodge Manager role.
Core Criteria:
Fully qualified FGASA Trails Guide (NQF 4 trails)
Registered with the National Department of Tourism, with all permits required to legally conduct guided walking safaris
Valid First Aid certification
Valid South African driver's licence with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
Valid firearm competency certificate for business purposes; legally authorised to carry a company-issued rifle
Previous experience guiding in a luxury lodge environment
Sound knowledge of local flora, fauna, ecology, animal behaviour, and conservation principles
