Position Overview
Summary
The Unit Assistant has responsibility and accountability for delivery of high quality basic nursing care for a designated group of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, hospital and departmental policies. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients/significant others and all health care team members. Shares responsibility for managing resources, supplies and equipment. Assists with coordination of patient care activities and departmental services. Provides clerical and unit related services as specified by the unit.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Licensure/Certification
CNA certification preferred or the equivalent of healthcare experience and education. Current CPR.
