Role Overview

UCSF Central IT is seeking a Web and Python Developer Consultant to design, develop, and maintain modern web applications that support institutional systems and digital services.

The consultant will work closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and data teams to build secure, scalable, and user-focused applications using modern frameworks, Python-based services, and cloud technologies. The role also leverages AI‑assisted development (“vibe coding”) to accelerate prototyping, coding, and debugging.

This engagement involves new application development integrating APIs, cloud services, and intelligent automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive web applications and hybrid mobile apps using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, React Native).
