Aegis has openings for welders with a client in Harvey, IL. This role is on 2nd shift (3: pm- am) and the position is a 6 month contract to hire position. The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

6 months-1+ years of experience in welding (open to entry level with schooling)

Experience in metal fabrication and welding

MIG welding experience

Ability to read and work from blueprints

Proficiency in using hand tools, simple fabrication tools, and measuring devices.

Ability to perform acceptable welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.

Skilled in GMAW, FCAW, and/or SAW welding processes.

Ability to use carbon-arc gouging (air-arc) equipment, hand grinding/profiling tools, and fixture aids.

Recognition of simple visual weld defects.

Experience monitoring, adjusting, and inspecting weld quality.
