*Position Summary* Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the welder/mechanic is responsible for all the metal fabrication and maintenance needs of the assigned depot. This includes but is not limited to the fabrication and repair of heavy construction equipment and attachments; snowplows and spreading apparatus; buildings and appurtenances; roadways, bridges, and tunnels. *Duties and Responsibilities* * Perform skilled fabrication welding and burning plasma cutting as required in the repair or maintenance of toll and/or construction equipment. * Operate and perform maintenance and regular diagnostic testing on welding equipment in conformance with maintenance and safety schedules. * Fabricate specialized devices for fast lane department. * Fabricate a wide variety of metal structures from oral directions, blueprint sketches, drawings, and written specifications. * Trouble shoot, repair, documents, and test motor equipment. * Assist mechanics in repairs on motor equipment when r...
