Wildfire Training Specialist

This position is part of the Ministry of Forestry and Parks, located in Hinton, Alberta. It is a temporary full‑time role with an anticipated end date of March 31, 2027, requiring 36.25 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to a Senior Wildfire Specialist, the Wildfire Training Specialist designs, develops, delivers, and continuously improves wildfire training programs that support operational readiness, staff competency, and succession planning across the Wildfire Management Branch.

• Designing, developing, and delivering operational and position‑specific wildfire training programs using classroom, field, simulation, online, and blended learning approaches.
• Evaluating, updating, and modernising training curriculum, delivery methods, and learning technologies to ensure continuous improvement.
